Some of our deck construction features include:

  • All stainless steel screws used on all decking.

  • Joists are 2×8′s, 16″ on center and doubled on exterior bands.

Many customers often want us to resurface their current decks in the Tampa Bay area. We are fully able to resurface your existing deck, as this can be very cost effective for you! We will be glad to make a complete evaluation of your deck. We can then make the most well informed decision about which direction you want to go with your existing deck. We can either resurface your deck or forego an entirely new deck construction. Upon the creation of a new deck, we provide you with several choices as far as decking materials.

One of the decking materials we offer is a composite called Trex. Trex offers many advantages to the plain wood you see on many decks and is code compliant. One of the greatest benefits of Trex is that it does not splinter, warp or rot. This is because it is made of recycled materials which do not carry such characteristics. Many people are beginning to use Trex over traditional wood because Trex does not require any painting, staining or sanding. It also has superior performance and durability to wood. These properties make it relatively carefree and easy to maintain. Trex naturally lightens over time and attains a weathered look after 12-16 weeks. It is available in all sorts of colors, railings and sizes to make your new deck look great! Cleaning Trex is simple. All that is required is hot water, soap and a bristle brush. A composite deck cleaner may also be used for a basic cleaning.

TimberTech decking offers a variety of products which share benefits similar to that of Trex decking. The different composite options are XLM, ReliaBoard, Earthwood, Floorizon, TwinFinish and DockSider. All of these decking options offer extremely low maintenance with the look and feel of real hardwood.

In response to its high popularity we use Azek decking as an option, which is neither wood nor a composite material. It is resistant to stains, scratches, splits, mold and mildew. Other great benefits include high durability and longevity, imperviousness to insects and moisture and a limited lifetime warranty. It Azek comes in several collections which contain a variety of colors. The Arbor Collection contains Acacia, Morado and Redland Rose. The Harvest Collection contains Brownstone, Clay, Slate Gray and White. The Terra Collection contains Fawn, Kona, Sedona and Tahoe.

If you prefer the beautiful look of real wood, you will love TROPICAL DECKING by SUNBELT FOREST PRODUCTS. This is #1 grade, dense, eased edge wood with PRESERVE PLUS (a wax, water repellent additive). PRESERVE PLUS is a great additive we use to increase the life of your deck. All of the lumber we use in our deck construction is high quality pressure treated to ensure maximum durability in the Tampa Bay area.

Some of the sizes of TROPICAL DECKING by SUNBELT FOREST PRODUCTS we use are:

  • 2x 6, 1/2” Radiused Edges: This comes in a dressed look, with all four edges machined to 1/2” radius. This is done to achieve uniformity throughout the entire piece of lumber. The stock lengths for this type of lumber are 10’ through 20’.
  • 5/4 x 6, 1/4” Radiused Edge: This comes in a dressed look, with all four edges machined to 1/4” radius. This is done to achieve uniformity throughout the entire piece of lumber. The stock lengths for this type of lumber are 10’ through 16’.
  • Both types of lumber we use are Southern Yellow Pine and are premium grades. They include a Moldex mold inhibitor and come prepped with the wax PRESERVE PLUS to repel water.
